POC-KITS (MAISTO, 2001) This line of 1/64 scale cars was only sold through Wal Mart. Various cars were produced but there was only one VW. Packaging is excessive. Each kit contains a base, body, a set of front wheels & axle, a rear set of wheels attached to a small plastic pullback motor, screws for holding body to base, and a small phillips screwdriver. They're packed in a small clear plastic insert, housed in a colored plastic box (shown open) and surrounded by a vinyl sleeve with hook. Inside the top of the colored box is a label that is also a sticker sheet. There is also a backer card in the reverse of the package. |

TONKA Die Cast Collection These 1/64 diecast cars are manufactured by Maisto for distribution under the Tonka brand (owned by Hasbro). They are released in a series of 50 cars with a #51 "Collectors Search Vehicle". Collection 1 and 2 were released in calendar year 2000. There was a blister card size reduction between the 1st and 2nd Collection. Collection 1 cardbacks were 4.5" x 7" (115mm x 177mm) while Collection 2 were 4.25" x 6.5" (109mm x 164mm). Both collection's cardfronts show a 1:1 Silverado truck 4WD with Tonka tampo. Bases are marked "Maisto". |
